THE AWAKENING

This site and petition has been designed to do one thing: help stop predatory loan farming and unethical business practices towards students.

What is loan farming? To sum it all up, in a short explanation, loan farming is: A trade school or school promising everything for you loans or money and giving you little or nothing in return, thus leaving you with little or NO education and debt. ("IN OTHER WORDS FRAUDING YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY AND TIME")

Who are we?

We are students, graduates and freshmen that have been violated by postsecondary education (a.k.a. trade schools or trade colleges).

How were we violated?

1.) Loan Farming (Student predator loan milling and/or high pressure education sales geared with the intent to generate loans or any kind of capital without ethical discretion.)

2.) Overstating Under-Qualified Accreditation (by the act of eluding)

3.) Media Fraud (using TV / Internet media promising jobs via key-placement and/ or graduation)

4.) Breach of Educational Contract (To not receive the benefits' required under contract and/or violation of agreement)

5.) Unethical Business Practices (practice bordering and/or outside the scope of State or Federal law)

6.) Unsafe Class Environments (biohazards or mechanical hazards without upkeep or maintenance to the class or shop environments)

7.) Discrimination (race, disability, origin, sex, religion etc...)

8.) Violation of F.D.C.P.A. (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) - and/or F.C.R.A. (Fair Credit Reporting Act) Federal rules of law. (false report of debt/harassment)

9.) Fraud by eluding (To promise something falsely to someone, so they enter into a contract for another's willful gain)

10.) Housing violations (Unsanitary or cramped living arrangements with overtones of price gouging, tuition, personal money, etc...)

The above is just a little of what students have to face every day at these trade schools. Look over this site, and you may find information you need to help fight these careless acts on youth.

President Barak Obama promised that he would honor “The No Child Left Behind Act” and that everybody should return to school. Well, we are a vast number of students that are not just left behind, we are in the shadows.
